Help needed.. trying to make my own starter.

Postby DeAct on Sun May 17, 2020 10:55 pm

Hey guys,

I’ve been trying to grow my own tempeh starter by growing on cooked rice. The problem I’m facing is that there seems to be yellow colonies growing along with r. Oligosporus.

Below are pictures, can anyone tell me where I’ve gone wrong ?

I had read several articles saying you could try making tempeh starter by letting some tempeh go to black, then drying it thoroughly, and then grinding it to a powder and mixing it with rice flour.
