High FODMAP foods and fermentation?

I have problems digesting high FODMAP foods such as garlic and onion. I haven't fermented high FODMAP foods before, but I hear that it reduces the FODMAP levels.

Have any of you had problems with garlic and onion for example, but find it fine once fermented? And if so, how long do you ferment it for to make it digestable?
