low sodium/salt sauerkraut recipe

I've been making sauerkraut for many years but now I have been diagnosed with kidney disease & must lower my sodium intake. I am skeptical of making it without adding salt. Has anyone here tried sauerkraut, no salt or low salt, & can you give me some tips on how to begin? Thanks.

I have gone to a teaspoon per pound of Cabbage not sure if you can go much less than that. It takes much more pounding to get the kraut below the juice. Best of luck with your health.
