I've come to the board with a similar question/problem.
Lollygator, Are you saying the white/yeast is okay?
I neglected a crock of pickles, and found quite a bit of scum + patches of grey, pink, blue growing on top. I skimmed what I could easily, then took the pickles out. Some have a white film (??) around them, but feel fairly firm and smell pickley.
I've made these before & they've worked out great. I'm thinking to just make up a new solution of brine and store them in the fridge.
